Noodara
Getting started

Your first deploy

Create a project, environment, and service, then deploy a containerized app.

This guide walks the real flow, start to finish: create a project, set up an environment, define a service, deploy it from a Git repo or image, and watch it run.

1. Create a project

From the projects list, open New project. It asks for a name — the way the project appears in the panel. Choose Create project to register it.

A project groups related services. Every service runs in an environment (like staging or production); multiple services can share the same environment on the same server.

2. Add an environment

From the project view, open New environment. It asks for:

  • Name — how the environment appears in the project (e.g., staging, production).
  • Server — the server where this environment runs.

Choose Create environment to register it.

3. Define a service

From the environment card, open New service. It asks for:

  • Name — how the service appears in the panel.
  • Source — where the app comes from: Git (clone a repo), Dockerfile (supply a path to build), or Image (run a pre-built image).
  • Container port — the port your app listens on inside the container.
  • Published port — optional; the port exposed on the server. Empty keeps it private.

Choose Create service to register it. The service is not yet running.

4. Deploy

Once a service is defined, the Deploy button appears in its toolbar. Click it to start a deployment. Noodara runs it step by step: if the source is Git or Dockerfile, it clones (or pulls), builds, then starts the container. Image sources skip the build step and go straight to start. Once started, the app is verified as healthy.

Every deployment is logged — see Logs next to Deploy to read the build output and any errors.

5. Monitor and redeploy

The service view shows its current status and the Deployments history below: every deploy, when it ran, what triggered it, and how long it took. Click a deployment row to open its full log in the panel on the right.

To deploy again with the latest code or image, click Deploy in the service toolbar.

To stop a deployment in progress, click Cancel deploy. The cancel only works while the container is starting; once running, no cancel is shown.

Limits in this release

  • No environment variables or build arguments: put all configuration into your image at build time or at container startup.
  • Redeployment stops the existing container and starts a new one. This causes brief downtime.
  • Noodara does not automatically restart failed containers, run healthchecks, or roll back deployments.

See Troubleshooting or the full error codes reference if something goes wrong.
